The Green Ember book series is near and dear to my heart.  I met the author (my now good friend) S.D. Smith at a conference in Nashville called Hutchmoot. At the time Sam wasn't a full-time author but he had a book he was writing that sprang from stories he'd told his kids from the porch of his West Virginia home about . . . rabbits.  According to his website "The Green Ember has reached hundreds of thousands of readers and spent time as the number one bestselling audiobook in the world on Audible.
