All spoons are carved from a single piece of wood  which was reclaimed from my neighborhood in East Memphis.  After rough cutting, refining and sanding, each spoon is covered in a food safe oil such as roasted walnut oil or butcher block oil. As wooden spoons lose their "shine" over time rubbing on more of the oils or even kitchen vegetable oil will restore the piece to its original luster.
